Our Mathur Vaishya Samaj originated at Mathura "The Holy Hindu Place" as the name indicates. Our forefathers living at Mathura were Chattriya Bansaj but when Muslim rulers Humayun & Babar created havoc with Hindus, our self respect was hurt as our wealth and women were not safe. To save our selves & our self respect  from the cruel hands of Muslim rulers our forefathers left Mathura with families & valuables and settled in villages and jungles on the banks of Chambal & Yamuna river . They  started business in villages hiding & calling themselves Mathur Vaishya . Our different gotras were created in ancient time as per the family heads so that the marriages are arranged in different gotras . Previously four gotras were checked and now only two gotras are saved Malik & Mama .  The logic behind it is the blood group should not be same & marriages should be arranged from separate families whose forefathers are separate. Now our samaj is leading  in education standard in percentage of population & people are well settled in business & services in cities all over India & overseas also. Comparing with other communities our samaj is well educated, well behaved and put themselves in all heights in business & services all over world. In our samaj you will find Engineers, C.A's, Doctors ,M.B.A's, M.C.A's, Scientists, IAS., IPS, IRS, IFS, IES. in large numbers in percentage of population which is at present only about 2.5 lacs.
